Layfield, Alan

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alan. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Brian Layfield. He was a beloved father of Brian, Jason and Natalie Layfield, devoted grandfather of young Alan and partner to Marta Papa. Alan was very respected in his profession. He will be missed deeply by his family and all that had the privilege of knowing him. A memorial will be held at the Church of St. Brides, 1516 Clarkson Rd. on Thursday April 27th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

As a young lad, Alan and I played on the same hockey team together for quite a few years. A super nice guy! May you Rest In Peace.

I apprenticed under Al when I first started at York-Johnson Controls. He taught me invaluable lessons for life and for work in the trade. I will remember Al as a friend who loved his family dearly and knew how to live life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed, and I know I am blessed to have spent time with such a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with Al’s entire family. May he rest in peace.

    To Al’s Family and Friends.

I first met Al in the 1990s prior to my employment with Trane. What I remember of him then, is the same person as I remember him in recent times working together at Trane. Al was a generous person, always willing to lend a hand, always had a good story to tell, always had a positive outlook to life.

I will always remember Al’s happy smile, as it made me feel better bringing his energy into the room.

I will miss Al, am very sad hearing of his passing.

    My dearest condolences.

    Rest in peace my friend.
