Rushton, Alfred John

Alfred John Rushton
January 29, 1931 – November 23, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Rushton after a courageous, hard fought battle against Alzheimer’s. Alf was a Loving Husband, Father, Father-In- Law, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend to many. He will be fondly remembered for his hard work as Union President of Steelworkers Local 2868. After his retirement in February, 1989 he championed Knollwood Golf Course, enjoying rounds with his friends. The family would like to offer sincere appreciation for the wonderful care he was given by the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital Hamilton. He could not have received better care. A special thank you from our hearts to his companion care giver Marianne Zidanic for her thoughtful attention to Dad, especially the Scottish music she played for him. Also we would like to thank Tranquility Cremation Services.
