ARMSTRONG, Frank
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank (AKA Mr. Pud) on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Frank is survived by his children Dave, Barb, John, Shelley and her husband Will Alvarado; grandchildren Stuart, Matt, Andrew, Matt, Chris, Tyler, Maddie, Kennedy, Gabriel, Sam and Max; great-grandchildren Lillie and Taelyn; brothers Butch, Ken and Jen, Terry and little big sister Margy. Frank was born in Hamilton in 1941 where he spent his entire life living, working and wreaking havoc. Frank was a 31 year employee with Dofasco where he worked on his physique to become the “big burly steelworker” that he claimed he was. It took him a little longer to find his great love Carol in 1985 whom he lost too soon on June 14, 2003. It is remarkable the strength of his will and love for her that he took his final breath on the same day 13 years later. Frank was a long time summer resident of Lilac Lodge in Bobcaygeon where he held court on his deck and charmed, or offended many a friend over the years. His love for travel took him to many places, but his favourite was Cuba where he met and maintained many friendships. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 25, 2016 at Bayview Cemetery and Crematorium and we encourage you to bring your stories to share about our dad. Reception to follow.

So shocked, its been a looooong time, had hoped we’d run into him along the years. Barb, Dave, John our sincerest condolences. Paul and I would have wanted to be at the celebration of life, but just found out today. Soo very very sorry. We thought of him often over the years. He was always good to us, and was always making me laugh.. I still use the phrase “Big Burly Steelworker” 🙂

My heart hurts for all of your family. Frank was always making a joke….and always a smile on his face! I’d say rest easy, but I’m sure you’re up there causing trouble. Big hugs to you and your beautiful wife who you’re reunited with….you’re both missed terribly. XO
